Improvement measures of sprocket processing materials

The service life of the sprocket is short, which is far from meeting the requirements of production practice. According to the service status, processing status and manufacturing technology of the sprocket, some improvement measures are put forward for the sprocket:
(1) The design material of the raw sprocket is 40Cr, the overall quenching and tempering hardness is hb220 ~ 250, and the tooth quenching is hrc48 ~ 52. Due to the limited quenching hardness of the tooth, this method can not improve the wear resistance of the sprocket on this basis. It is suggested that the sprocket material be changed to 20CrMnTi, carburized and quenched. The hardness of chain socket can reach more than HRC60, and its wear resistance is more than 2.5 times that of 40Cr material. This can greatly improve the service life of the sprocket, reduce the repair frequency, improve the productivity and reduce the production cost;
(2) The shape of the chain socket of the original sprocket is forged directly, which has large dimensional error, rough surface and reduced wear resistance. With the wide application of NC machine tools and the reduction of processing costs, it is recommended to leave a little margin after forging and finish machining by digital milling, so as to improve the dimensional accuracy and surface roughness, so as to improve the wear resistance.
